The police of Adygeya have discovered a fraud of 17 million rubles in road construction, RIA Novosti reports.
According to investigations, 9 million rubles were granted for construction materials in 2011. However, no shipments of the materials were made.
The scheme was simplified in 2012 when the fraudsters started distributing money to various organizations without signing any agreements. The police learned during office searches that the deals were made with figureheads.
A criminal case was initiated and may result in up to 10 years of prison for people proven guilty in the case.
