Russia becomes top fighter seller

Russia was the top seller of fighters in 2009-2012 and may keep its leadership in 2013-2016, RIA Novosti reports.

A total of 384 fighters will be sold in 2009-2016 for about $17.8 billion. Russia is followed by the US with exports of 329 fighters for $31.1 billion, China with 187 fighters for $3.7 billion.

A total of 559 fighters were sold for $32.55 billion around the world in 2009-2012. The Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade predicts that 529 fighters will be sold around the world for $41.4 billion in 2013-2016.
