Energy ministers of Iran and Oman signed a memorandum of understanding on August 26 to start exporting gas to Oman in 2015.A contract worth $60 billion was signed to transport gas to open from Iran for 25 years. A pipeline will be built for the cause.
Iran and Oman have been discussing gas shipments since 2005. International sanctions have prevented realization of the gas project and forced Iran to sign a deal with Qatar in 2007.
