October futures for Brent Crude Oil dropped by 0.73% to $114.32 per barrel at 9.27 am, WTI by 1.08% to $107.63 per barrel as a result of the market reaction to British Prime Minister David Cameron’s stating that the UK will not intervene in Syria, RIA Novosti cites Michael McCarthy, the chief market strategist of CMC Markets in Sydney.
British Defense Secretary Philip Hammond confirmed Cameron’s announcement.
