Turkey to discuss infrastructure modernization with about 25 states

Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim said that he will meet transportation ministers of about 25 states, including Azerbaijan, Georgia and Iraq, to discuss modernization of road infrastructure, Trend reports.

He noted that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway project and the Marmaray Tunnel will change the trade system of the West and the East.

A new 105-km branch will be built within the framework of the railway project. The Akhalkalaki-Marabda-Tbilisi Railway will be reconstruction to increase its capacity to 15 million tons of cargo annually. A terminal to switch between the local and European railways will be built in Akhalkalaki. The BTK Railway will transport about 30 million tons of cargo a year.
