145 thousand tons of grain have been harvested in Karachaevo-Cherkessia, which is 40 thousand tons more than last year, RIA Novosti reports.
Despite the big harvest, the region will still have to buy 140 thousand tons of grain to meet its needs, declared the head of machinery and planting of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, Nikolai Progoza.
He said?the crop could have been bigger, if it had not been for heavy rains that ruined 4 thousand hectares.
