Azerbaijan almost tripled oil extraction in 10 years

Oil extractioned in Azerbaijan increased from 15.38 million tons in 2003 to 42.98 million tons in 2012, Trend reports.

Oil and condensate extraction totaled 29.12 million tons in January-August 2013, dropping by 1% compared with the same period in 2012. Most oil is extracted from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field and gas from the Shah Deniz Field.

Gas extraction increased from 5.13 billion cubic meters in 2003 to 17.24 billion cubic meters in 2012. Gas extraction in January-August 2013 totaled 11.7 billion cubic meters, compared with 11.41 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2012.
