Kazakhstan to build factory for potassium fertilizers

Nurlan Sauranbayev, Kazakh Vice Minister for Industry and New Technologies, said that the republic was planning to build a new factory to produce potassium fertilizers, Trend reports.

Resources for the factory will be extracted in West Kazakhstan. Sauranbayev reminded that a document for realization of the project had been signed by the Ministry for Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan and China-Agroholding within the framework of the recent visit of Chinese Prime Minister Xi Jingping in Astana.

The project is worth about $1 billion. Expansion of the factory will make the project worth a total of up to $3 billion.
