Georgian businessmen have doubts about economic growth

The businessmen of Georgia are skeptical about the high economic indicators, Business Georgia reports.

According to statements of several car importers, the situation in the economy in general remains the same as in July, with poor sales activity. Consumers were more active in June. But the importers say that this was not due to economic growth but was due to the falling rate of the euro to the dollar, making imported cars cheaper in Georgia.

Real estate agents are skeptical as well. The number of apartment purchases did not rise, but demand for renting apartments for security did. Apartments worth $60,000 are being sold for $45,000.

One indicator of economic growth is the rising demand for cars and real estate. The official document of the government says that, in July, sales rose 16% compared to the same period last year. There were 18,460 vehicles registered in July, which is 33.9% more than in the same period last year, and 5.5% more than in June.
