The deputy minister of oil, head of Iranian National Gas Company Javad Ouji said in an interview to Mekhr that construction of gas pipelines is due to signing of new contracts for gas supplies to Europe, Iran News reports.
He said that construction of the 6th trans-Iranian gas pipeline will increase gas export to 60 mil cubic m daily. The 9th pipeline which will be used for direct Iranian gas supplies to Europe will be 1 803 km long and its construction depends on signing of new contracts with European partners.
Ouji said that the 6th trans-Iranian gas pipeline will be approximately 1 300 km long. Its 3rd and 4th sections have not been finished yet, the 1st and 2nd sections, connecting Asaluye with Akhvaz are 611 km long.
The 3rd and 4th sections have a diameter of 56 inch. The 6th pipeline will transport gas to the Turkish border in Bazergan. There has been a deal signed worth 1 billion euro concerning completion of the final section of the pipeline 620 km long from Jekhkaka to Kurdistan and then to Nazergan.
Ouji said that a consortium was established consisting of Iranian private companies, Chinese ‘Saynopek’ and a Russian company for realization of the 9th gas pipeline project. The project is worth 1.325 billion euro and was approved by the specialists of the president of Iran in June this year.
The pipeline will transport gas from ‘South Pars’, it will be split into 4 parts and will be launched in 3 years. Its capacity will be 110 mil cubic m daily. The section from Asaluye to Akhvaz will be 605 km long, from Akhvaz to Kermanshakh – 461 km long, from Kermanshakh to Miandoaba – 348 km and from Miandoaba to Bazergan – 436 km long.
