Turkey may limit gold exports to Iran

Turkish Vice Prime Minister Ali Babacan said that Turkey may limit or stop gold exports to Iran, Trend reports.

The US Treasury announced sanctions blocking income from oil exports of Iran in early February. Turkish Minister for Economy Zafer Caglayan said in January 2013 that gold trade with Iran would continue nonetheless.

Turkish-Iranian trade turnover dropped from $8.5 billion in the first 8 months of 2012 to $3.1 billion in the first 8 months of 2013.
