Russian market to boost Georgian agriculture

Zurab Abashidze, special envoy of the Georgian prime minister for relations with Russia, said that access to the Russian market would boost Georgian agriculture, News Georgia reports.

Zurab Chekurashvili, head of the National Food Agency of Georgia, and Sergey Dankvert, head of the Russian veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance service, signed an agreement scrapping the ban on Georgian products in Russia on October 14. Georgian Agriculture Minister Shalva Pipiya said that the Russian market will open for Georgian nuts, citrus fruits, grape and apples.
