Ruslan Grinberg: United States does not see way out of financial crisis

The 16 days of budget crisis in the United States due to the inability of republicans and democrats to negotiate and find a compromise regarding the state budget have not affected either the global or the Russian economy, because authorities have found the right solution, Director of the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ruslan Grinberg told Vestnik Kavkaza in an interview.

Grinberg expressed doubt that a financial crisis will take place in the US in the near future. He stressed that there might be a "technical" default, but not an actual one.

The question about the critical threshold for the American national debt remains unclear to world economists. Grinberg said that Americans themselves do not know it and that the debt will continue to increase.

Meanwhile, the situation in the United States represents only partial risks to Russia since the trade turnover between Russia and the United States is not high. "We are all hostages to the dollar, we are all interested in maintaining its stability. And this, in my opinion, will continue to work," the director of the Institute of Economics of the RAS said.

Grinber also noted that one should not expect any serious fluctations in the rate of the dollar in the near future.
