US grants UN 10 armored cars for Syria chemcial weapons work

The US State Department has granted $1.55 million to buy 10 armored Chevrolet Suburbans for the UN to speed up the process of utilization of Syrian chemical weapons by the UN and OPCW, ITAR-TASS reports.The Canadian Air Forces will deliver the vehicles to the Middle East. This will make the US total contribution to the process worth about $6 million.
