Iranian president to open dam in Tajikistan

Iranian and Tajik Presidents Hassan Rouhani and Emomali Rahmon will both attend the opening of the Sangtudi Dam-2 in Tajikistan in early November, Trend reports.The dam's construction started in 2006. Iran has invested $180 million in the project and Tajikistan $40 million. The power plant will produce about 1 billion KW/h. Iran will take income from exploitation of the dam for the first 12.5 years.
