Rovnag Abdullayev, President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), said that gas emissions at the Guneshli and Neft Daslari Fields in the Caspian Sea had dropped by 560 million cubic meters, Trend reports.
The president noted that the reduction had been achieved by dropping volumes of gas burnt at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field and the Sangachal Oil Terminal. Abdullayev expects the achievement to improve the ecological situation.
He added that old refineries will be taken down, construction of a complex will improve the situation in Sumgayit.
