The mayor of Behshahr in the northern Iranian Mazandaran Province declared that the city will obtain electricity from waste at a compost processing plant with the help of Chinese investors, IranNews reports.
At first, 250 tons of waste will be processed into 2.5 MW of energy per day. In the future the technology might be applied to other cities in the province.
