The Turkish oil complex Petkim, part of which belongs to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), plans to increase its exports to $500 million, reports Trend, referring to Kenan Yavuz, executive director of СА SOCAR/TURCAS. This is $150 million more than last year and is the same as the level of exports in 2008.
The director said that it is possible to see off the results of the crisis within a year. In 2008, an alliance of the companies SOCAR and Turcas Petrol/Injaz Projects won a tender to buy a part of the Petkin complex. These investments will allow imports to decrease from 70% to 30% of domestic petro-chemical requirements.
