New platform on the ACG block to start working by the end of the year

Commissioning of a new platform within the Chirag oil project (increase in oil production on the block of Azeri fields "Azeri - Chirag- Guneshli" ) is planned by the end of the year, BP reports (BP operates the block development).

According to the company's report, commissioning and testing in the framework of the project are currently under way.

"All the work envisaged under this project will be completed by the end of this year”, Trend quotes the company.

The Chirag oil project involves the construction of the platform "West Chirag” which will be installed at a depth of 170 meters between the existing platforms "Chirag" and "Guneshli". Investment of $ 6 billion in the project is planned.

In total, the project (until the end of the contract on ACG in 2024) is expected to produce more than 300 million barrels of oil .
