17.5 million rubles stolen from ministry in Kabardino-Balkaria

Three members of the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry for Labor and Social Development have been accused of stealing 17.5 million rubles, ITAR-TASS reports.Investigators say that the functionaries were responsible for the formation of the registry of citizens receiving monthly benefits for housing and utilities services. The three are suspected of putting in fake information on 117 people that have no right to such benefits in April 2010 – August 2013. The scheme resulted in loss of over 17.5 million rubles.The theft was discovered in September. The officials face up to 10 years in prison, if found guilty.
