Zurab Abashize, Special Envoy of the Georgian Prime Minister for Relations with Russia, told Vestnik Kavkaza that all obstacles for flights between the two countries created after the 2008 war had been removed. He noted that both states were ready to make the flights. Abashizdze added that there were Russian companies interested in using the Batumi and Poti Ports to export products, including petroleum. Railways were another option, he concluded.
