Georgian inflation may be in two-digit figures again

At the end of this year Georgian inflation will be in the two-digit figures, Business Georgia reports, citing the ‘Resonance’ newspaper.

The former minister of property management, Avtandil Silagadze, said that the rising prices of food products started long ago and will probably continue. He said that the rising prices for wheat, sugar and agricultural products is an indicator that prices will rise more than planned.

According to Silagadze, the production of agricultural and other products dropped to a minimum and without investment in this sphere inflation will continue into next year. According to official information, inflation this year should not exceed 6%. The latest indicator of inflation was a two-digit figure following the war in August 2008.
