Russian Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov has thanked agricultural workers of the North Caucasus at a press conference on the results of the agricultural year. He thanked the farmers of the region "for the quality of work and high yields, despite all the difficulties and challenges."
Fedorov noted that this year's grain yields in the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories and corn yield in Kabardino-Balkaria were higher this year than in any other year in the country.
Fedorov also said that next year Russia should produce approximately 5 million tons more grain than this year.
Touching upon the distribution of government grants for agricultural schools, Nikolai Fyodorov said that the matter has not yet been settled but that the Stavropol State Agrarian University will be one of the grant recipients.
