EPDK, the Turkish structure regulating the energy market in the country, has nullified the licenses of the petroleum companies OMV Petrol Ofisi (POAŞ) and Shell & Turcas Petrol, Trend reports.
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), the biggest investor in Turkey, purchased a share in Petrol Ofisi (POAŞ), a company of OMV (Austria) and part of the Doğan Holding. OMV owns 95.75% of Petrol Ofisi.
Petrol Ofisi owns the largest network of petroleum stations in Turkey. OMV plans to sell its share in the network and leave the Turkish market.
OMV Petrol Ofisi (POAŞ) asked EPDK to renew its license for sales of petroleum and gas.
