Georgian wine makers will not sell million bottles in Turkey

Georgian wine makers do not plan to make full use of the quota for sales of their products in Turkey and will not export a million bottles of wine in 2014, Business Georgia reports.

The quota exceeds the demand for whine. Georgia will sell 50,000 liters of wine in Turkey at best.

Turkey gave Georgia the quota in 2007. Turkey is the largest trade partner of Georgia. Their trade turnover totaled $1.5 billion in 2013. The Turkish market is no a priority for Georgian businessmen and the quota has never been fully used.
