Iranian Labour Minister Ali Rabiei said that healthcare expenses had increased by 41% for families in the past 10 months, Trend reports.
They total about 70% of total average income per family. The minister noted the need to harmonize the insurance system with European standards to cope with the problem.
Rabiei said that 37 people were using services of the Social Security insurance company. The company cannot cover all demands for medicaments and treatment. Over 13 million people remain uninsured in Iran. Most of them live in rural areas.
