National oil company to be founded in Dagestan

A national oil company will be founded in Dagestan, according to Dagestani President Ramazan Abdulatipov’s message to parliament, ITAR-TASS reports.Dagestan and Rosneft have a deal. The republic has enough oil and gas reserves but the natural resources do not make the life of its population any more prosperous. Abdulatipov proposed geological studies on the Caspian Shelf and ordered development of a geological plan for the process fast.Dagneft, a subsidiary of Rosneft, is operating in Dagestan as two companies: Dagneft and Dagneftegaz. The two structures develop over 40 fields, mainly the Dimitrovskoye and the Ozernoye.
