Georgian Deputy Energy Minister Ilya Eloshvili said at a press conference in KazTransGas that the Georgian Presidential Administration was accused of illegal gas consumption at the president’s residence, Georgia Online reports.
According to the deputy minister, the administration used gas worth about $2830-3400. He suspects that the volume was exaggerated and someone was acquiring the money for gas. The administration was fined. Gas supply of the administration will be stopped until the fine is paid.
It was also said at the press conference that some villas and other private structures were possibly using gas illegally. An inspection will be initiated.
