Georgian government provides subsidies for grape harvesting

The Georgian government has provided approximately $3 million as subsidies for grape harvesting, the head of the rtveli-2010 coordination headquarters, Tariel Gabuniya, told Kakheti information center. He said that the finances will be used for voucherization and financing of other organizational issues, Georgia Online reports.


Vouchers will be given to wine factories that buy grapes from farmers. Rtveli in Kakheti will start in approximately 2-3 days, Gabuniya said.


This year Kakheti is due to harvest 85,584 tons of grapes, 58,419 tons of Rkatsiteli, 22,813 tons of Saperavi and 4,335 tons of hybrid sorts. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, there will be 20 reception points during rtveli.
