First oil extracted at West Chirag platform

BP, the operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field, has launched the West Chirag platform, Trend reports.Construction of the platform was carried out within the framework of the Chirag oil project to increase oil extraction. The platform was constructed at a depth of 170m between the Chirag and Guneshli platforms.Over 300 million barrels of oil are planned to be extracted by expiration of the contract in 2024.
