Iran plans to construct canal from Caspian sea


A canal will be constructed connecting central Iranian cities and the province of Simnan with the Caspian Sea. The canal will supply the cities with two billions of water, claimed Iranian Agriculture Minister Sadig Halilian today in Damgan, reports Trend. The main problem of Simnan is a lack of water, he said, the 70km-long channel will eliminate the problem. Research for the project have already started.
