According to official statistics, Kazakh investors spent $14 million in Georgia in the first quarter of this year. Kazakh investors are mainly working with hotels, recreation and communication complexes in Georgia. The second major investor in Georgia is the Virgin Islands, with China in third place, Business Georgia reports.
A total of $76 million was invested into Georgia in the first quarter, half the amount invested in the same period last year. The head of the Investment Agency of the Georgian Ministry of Economy, Irakliy Matkava, said that the reason for the falling investment rate may be the halting of a particular project by an investor, the sale of a business or internal problems of companies.
