Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze said that the republic was searching for oil fields. He noted that 680 million tons of oil had been found so far, Trend reports.
Oil extraction in Georgia stated in the 1990s. About 3.5 million tons of oil were extracted daily. The current volume does not meet the demands.
According to the minister, Georgia has about 25 license blocks for searches for oil. No results have been achieved so far.
