Iran has reached an agreement to build a new oil refinery in Chah Bahar County. The construction will start in the near future, said Mohammad Yakub Jangal, an MP of the Islamic Council of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran.ru reports.
49% of shares of the refinery will belong to a Chinese company and 51% to Iranian businessmen. The facility will process 40,000 barrels of oil a day.
The Deshtyari District has enough oil reserves for the refinery. A set of chemical facilities is being constructed in the county. A railway from Chahbahar to Mashhad is under construction.
