President of the Ukrainian National Bank Stepan Kubiv has promised to stabilize the national currency (hryvnia), ITAR-TASS reports.
He said that measures to stabilize the currency will be proposed this week. A detailed program will be presented to the parliament soon.
The official noted that it was important to form a proper climate for foreign investments.
The value of the hryvnia has dropped by 14% since early February to 9.85 hryvnias per dollar. It is close to the record of over 10 hryvnias per dollar registered on December 18, 2008.
