Iran wants to sign gas deal with Pakistan

Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said, commenting on freezing of the Peace Pipeline construction, that Iran was interested in signing a gas deal with Pakistan. 

The Peace Pipeline to transport Iranian gas to Pakistan will be completed after lift of anti-Iranian sanctions, said Pakistani Minister for Oil and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi today, Iran.ru reports.

He reminded that the pipeline construction contract had been signed five years ago but no progress to realize the project had been made in Pakistan. No company wants to build the pipeline.

Abbasi clarified that the construction problem was caused by anti-Iranian sanctions. The project will be accomplished in 30-36 months after lift of sanctions.
