Electricity prices rise in Iran

Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian said that prices for electricity in Iran had increased by 25% on February 20, Trend reports.

Gomayun Haeri, Managing Director of Iran’s Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA), said in late September 2013 that the country’s expenses to produce electricity exceeded income from its sales threefold.

Iran has about 28 million addresses of power consumers.
