Amendments to Georgia's tax law will come into force on September 1st. Taxes in the telecommunication sector will rise. According to the amendments, voice telephone services will undergo excise taxes, Business Georgia reports.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this year the excise tax will reach 10%, but in 2010 real taxation will be 4% because the amendment will come into force in September and the companies will need to cover only 4 months. In 2011 the new tax code will be approved and the rate should be within 10%, but the final figure will be decided by the government.
