Russian-EU talks on South Stream will not stop over Crimea dispute

European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oetting’s spokesman Sabina Berger has stated that the situation in Crimea will not be a reason to stop the talks between the European Commission and Russia about South Stream, ITAR-TASS reports.She noted that Oettinger only meant a halt to political contacts with Russia. The talks will continue in the context of harmonizing inter-government agreements between Russia and EU countries with the standards of the third energy package.The gas pipeline is an alternate route for deliveries of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine.
