Georgia plans to fulfill 45% of grain demand in 2013

The Georgian president discussed the issue of rising prices for food and wheat with the government and considered the points of view of Premier Nika Gilauri and the Minister of Agriculture Bakur Kvezereli on the prospects for grain production in the country, Trend reports.


Kvezereli said that, according to calculations, Georgia will have fulfilled 45% of the country’s demand in grain by 2013.


The minister presented the plan to the president, which involves using US seeds that produce higher harvests and quality of wheat.
