National Welfare Fund may finance construction of bridge to Crimea

The National Welfare Fund of Russia may finance construction of a bridge to Crimea over the Kerch Strait, said the Minister for Regional Development Igor Slyunyayev, Rosbalt reports.Rosavtodor is to complete construction of the bridge by November 1, 2014.Russia will spend 343.9 billion on the development of the economy, employment market and small and medium business. 21 billion will be granted to balance regional budgets.Dmitry Medvedev and Victor Yanukovych signed a deal in 2010 to build the bridge. An agreement on joint measures for its construction was signed in December 2013. Russian Transportation Minister Maksim Sokolov said in early March 2014 that the project should take at least 3.5 years and will cost at least 50 billion rubles.
