Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmoujon Sabirov heads the Turkmen delegation at a session of the joint coordinating group for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan (TAT) railway construction at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry in Ashkhabad, Trend reports.
Delegations attending the talks will discuss bilateral cooperation in transportation in the context of realization of the Turkmen-Afghan-Tajik memorandum of understanding for construction of the railway.
Realization of the TAT railway project started in June 2013. China, Iran and Kyrgyzstan may join it. The railway will be 400km long and will be launched in 2015. It will connect Central Asia with the coast of the Indian Ocean. It will be twice as short as the railway going to the Baltic Sea through Russia.
