Iran to double oil extraction by 2018

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said that oil extraction will rise from 3 million barrels to 5.7 million barrels a day by 2018, ITAR-TASS reports.

Moshtagh Al-Gohari, head of the National Iranian Oil Company, said that $14 billion will be invested in the petroleum industry.

The International Energy Agency said that oil exports in February increased by 240,000 barrels to 1.65 million barrels a day. Iran is allowed to sell a maximum of 1 million barrels of oil a day.
