After returning to the Russian market less than a year ago, the Georgian wines have become the third best-selling imported wines in Russia.
In the first three months of 2014, Russia imported 7.4 million liters of wine (9.87 million bottles) from Georgia - more than from Spain, and almost as much as from Italy. The share of Georgian wines among imported wines amounted to 14%. In the wine market in Russia they have 6.4%.
Abkhazian wines which are slightly cheaper than Georgian wines are sold better on the Russian market.
