Financing of North Caucasus to be cut

The Russian state program for development of the North Caucasus until 2020 was cut by 13% to 204.7 billion rubles, RIA Novosti reports.

The state program for development of the North Caucasus until 2025 was adopted in late 2012. The financing in the program totaled 2.5 trillion rubles, 90% of which were to be acquired from non-budget sources. Russia was planning to grant about 235 billion rubles from the federal budget in 2013-2020.

The state program was adjusted according to the president’s message on the budget policy of 2014-2016.

Natalya Platonova, Special Russian Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District has not commented on the financing program.
