Construction of a new thermal power plant has started at the Zavodskoy District of Grozny. The power plant will fulfill all demands for electricity in the republic.
Chechen Minister for Industry and Energy Galas Taymaskhanov noted that realization of the project was initiated after signing of a deal between Gazprom and its subsidiary Gazpromenergo.
The Grozny thermal power plant will have an output of 400MW. The minister emphasized that, considering that the republic was not producing any electricity, the power plant would become a great achievement.
