Canada skips Moscow World Petroleum Congress

Premier of Alberta Dave Hancock (Canada) said that his country will not partake in the Moscow World Petroleum Congress hosted by Moscow on June 15-19, ITAR-TASS reports.

His executives will not support Canadian companies that decide to attend the Congress.

Canada is the world’s 7th largest oil extractor. 95% of its oil is extracted in Alberta. Canada has the world’s second largest oil reserves (178.9 billion barrels, 13.21% of world reserves).

Moscow will host the World Petroleum Congress at Crocus Expo. Over 5,000 delegates from 100 countries will take part in the Congress.
