'RusHydro' plans to restore the Irganay hydro electric plant, the
second most powerful plant in the North Caucasus, recently hit by a
fire, RIA Novosti reports, citing an official spokesman of the
company.
The blaze did not affect energy supplies in Dagestan. The Russian
Ministry of Emergencies believes that the fire was caused by the
decompression of an oil pump.
Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that the Federal Security Service had
inspected the power plant and found a self-made explosive device
planted near one of the two hydro generators equal to 4 kg of TNT.
According to the source, terrorists planned a similar attack to the
one on the Baksan hydro electric plant in Kabardino-Balkaria less than
two months ago.
