Turkish Minister for Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Lutfi Elvan, said that the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway will be accomplished in late 2015. He reminded that the latest discussions of the project had been held in Tbilisi and participated in by the presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, Trend reports.
The minister clarified that 80% of the work on the project had been completed in Turkey. He noted that construction of the 2700-2800m long tunnel was going slowly.
Elvan added that construction of the Marmara Tunnel in Turkey and launch of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway will create a railway connection from London to Beijing. The railway will connect all countries from Central Asia to China.
