Armenia to receive World Bank loan

The Finance Minister of Armenia, Gagik Khachatryan and the head of the Armenian office of the World Bank, Jean-Michel Happi signed today loan agreements to ensure the implementation of programs in the educational and social fields.

 

Under an agreement signed with the International Development Association, Armenia will be given an equivalent of $ 21.2 million loan with Special Drawing Rights (SDR) in the amount of $ 13.9 million. The goal of the program is to improve social services and to develop the analytical, monitoring and evaluation functions of these services, NEWS.am reports quoting the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia.

 

In addition, under the program aimed at improving education Armenia will receive a $ 30 million loan with $ 15 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
